Getting Started with Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions. Here are some that often come up as people consider beginning this work.

  • You may be managing work, relationships, and responsibilities on the outside, while still feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stretched thin internally. Therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis. It can also be a space to slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and make meaningful shifts in how you relate to yourself and others.

  • I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with are also exploring cultural identity, belonging, and the impact of early relational experiences.

  • I work with individuals and couples who are often thoughtful, self-aware, and used to holding a lot in their lives. hey may be seen as capable and put-together, while privately feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or worn down.

My practice is especially attuned to BIPOC clients, immigrants, and those navigating multicultural or cross-cultural identities. This can include the complexities of belonging, family and cultural expectations, and the experience of moving between different worlds or roles.

I also work with clients who are seeking a deeper, more reflective approach to therapy—whether that means understanding long-standing patterns, exploring relational dynamics, or reconnecting with themselves in a more grounded and meaningful way.

  • Somatic therapy works with both the mind and the body in the present moment. At times, experiences and emotions are held physically and may not fully resolve through talking alone. This approach gently brings present moment awareness to your internal experience, helping you process and integrate what’s been carried over time.

  • Yes. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a structured, evidence-based therapy for trauma and related concerns.

EMDR works by supporting the brain’s natural ability to process memories, often reducing the emotional intensity connected to past experiences. While it is commonly used for trauma, it can also be helpful for anxiety, relational patterns, and experiences that feel “stuck.”

I integrate EMDR thoughtfully within therapy, based on your needs, readiness, and what feels most supportive. This may include preparation and resourcing to help you feel grounded before moving into deeper processing.

  • My approach is relational, collaborative, and attuned to your pace. We may explore patterns, emotions, and body-based experiences, with the intention of helping you feel more connected to yourself and more grounded in your life and relationships.

  • I offer online therapy for clients located in California and New Hampshire. Most clients begin with the standard 50-minute weekly sessions. Over time, we can adjust the length and frequency depending on your needs and what feels most supportive.

  • My standard fee is $200 per session. I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for students.

You can find more details on my fees and policies page.

  • I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

You can read more about this on the fees and policies page.

  • I invite you to reach out to schedule a consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and see if it feels like a good fit.

You can get in touch through the contact page.
